A Very ‘Clean’ Thanksgiving

Since I started my fitness journey over a year ago, what I consider to be 'normal' in my diet has changed considerably. First off, my holistic doctor discovered that I have a gluten and sugar intolerance which is just as fun as it sounds. This means I have an inflammation response when I regularly them, or sometimes if I just eat one thing that has a lot of sugar or wheat in it. When Life Happens: Training and Travel

I'm kind of a control freak. There I said it. When a family emergency lead to a unplanned seven hour road trip to Louisiana (aka pretty much the most delicious slash unhealthiest state ever) I kind of had a minor panic attack. What would this impromptu trip mean for my training?! Do you know how hard it is for me to resist the amazing Cajun cooking down here? The Former Miss Piedmont

  A week ago today, I gave up my first local title with the Miss America Organization. My year of service as Miss Piedmont has shaped me so much more than I could have ever imagined and I'm really excited to use this blog to share some of my experiences with you but first you need to hear something. I am not a pageant girl.
